OUR COMPANY

Welcome to Nova Life, we are a life style brand that sells apparel including shirts, sweaters hats and more. We also sell water bottles, phone cases and some other fun items. We strive for quality in our products and make sure that all of our products are made Eco friendly and strive towards a better, cleaner planet. All of our products are made in Canada by hard working dedicated team. Our products are all made with meaning behind them, with a mix of our powerful quotes and beautiful artwork created by our design team. We pride ourselves on our working environment and culture striving to give our employees happy and healthy work lives and to create lasting co worker and professional relationships. We want everyone of our employees to go home feeling like they achieved something everyday and to feel that they made a difference in the world, while working with people they can trust.

Below is a chart of our companies management structure. At Nova Life, even though we have a small amount of employees, we still strive to keep everyone organized and on task, so that minimal time, money and resources are wasted.

At Nova Life we pride ourselves on our working environment and culture. Our limited number of employees allows professional and meaningful co-worker relationships to be created. We believe that these relationships are vital to the success of our company because it allows our employees to better understand the personalities and working habits of those that they work with. In turn this allows our employees to learn who they enjoy working with and who they get along with the best. This connection of personality and working style boosts attitude and productivity in our working environment. Moving on to our facility we have a comfortable and inviting work space, that is an open floor plan to enforce the sense of community and to allow ideas to be shared among employees. If some of our employees need some quiet they can utilize one of our shareable work rooms, also useful for meetings and for small collaborative projects. We also have an inviting lunch / lounge area for our employees to disconnect from their work during their brakes and so they can have a change of scenery.

Some of the perks we provide at Nova Life are a free lunch and small breakfast so that everyone has time for a meal even if you don't have time to make one in the morning. Giving our employees lunch and breakfast helps create happier and healthier lives for our employees in turn making them more productive. Some other perks we include are, flexible work hours and remote work options for select positions. As a small, young company we also have many new promotion options always arising, so as our company grows so can their position.

COMMUNICATION PROCESSES

In a company where all of our products ideas are created by our employees we like to enforce teamwork, so one of our key communications processes is using our open floor plan office space to share ideas and thoughts around the room while creating products. If our employees feel that they work better alone, when it is not imperative that they be working with other employees, they are able to use our shareable work spaces that give them the quiet and solitude they need. Every Monday we have a meeting with the intent of any employees to voice any ideas, concerns or any other topics they would like to talk about so we know how the business is doing and so we stay in the know of how our employees are doing with their projects and so we know as soon as possible about problems. We always make sure that we take any feedback from employees very seriously to keep our employees happy and to make sure that the company is working to its full potential.

CONFLICT STRATEGIES

Unmanaged or poorly managed negative conflicts can generate a breakdown in trust and loss of productivity. At Nova Life the first way we look to avoid negative conflict is to utilize our communication processes, as talked about in the above paragraph. Use of effective communication stops conflict arising from the anxiety and stress of not knowing what they are suppose to be doing or not understanding their tasks correctly. We also use our weekly Monday meeting to help with communication. During our meetings we make sure to voice the concerns of our staff to make sure that nothing goes unsaid and to make sure that all of our employees know what their tasks are for the week. These two strategies help to reduce stress and anxiety in our work space, in turn stopping most major negative conflict from ever presenting itself. Of course some conflict is positive and we use this to boost creativity in our art department. Allowing employees to share ideas can sometimes spark conflict, but this process allows kinks to be worked out and allows better products to be created with multiple heads working on one project.
